World class cuisine, excelent service, discrete and elegant. Good for both high level business encounters and personal/family reunions. Must stop there if you go to Costa Rica.

I have been to San Jose plenty of times for business purposes and never been to this restuarant. In need of a place to entertain a prospective client. They suggested this restuarant. Wow, I was so glad they did. The view was stupendous. The ambience was great. The piano player was awesome. The chapel was that small and quaint. You could just visualize the monks praying there. The food was excellent. We had to talk business and they were patient with us, as we were the last ones out. I would recommend this to everyone.

There was nothing amiss about this restaurant... it was just fabulous. From the atmosphere to the wine recommendations and the food, it was a quality beyond compare.

Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.

Upon the recommendation of a local, my husband and I had dinner at Le Monastere on March 25, 2009 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We flew in from the U.S. on our actual anniversary date and had dinner there that evening. It was the perfect combination of elements: the mountaintop view of the city lights, romantic music, delicious food, interesting historical setting. It was an occasion to remember -- very special evening.

If you could reach Heaven, Paradise or any other celestial place through your palate, the shortest and most pleasant way would be Le Monastere in Costa Rica.

A magical place. That is how my wife and I describe it. I am Costa Rica, and I had never been here before. Honestly , I didnt come here before because I expected the prices to be high, but they are very reasonable. A charming place, keep going!

I have lived in this country for more than ten years, my wife more than forty. We are in agreement this was the best meal we've ever had in Costa Rica, and perhaps the best we have ever had in our lives.

The service was excellent! Better than Las Vegas. The food was cooked to perfection, so compliments to the Chef. I would definitively come back again and again to this restaurant.

The realization of a dream in Costa Rica has come true. Every expectation was met in full.
